| The Changing Face of Distance Education is a commentary describing how distance education has changed since it went online. Its target audience is anyone interested in pursuing post-secondary distance education. The writing style is educated but casual. |
| Software Reviews |
The Learning to Speak... series of articles for WindoWatch online magazine critically reviewed the Learn to Speak™ interactive language learning software by The Learning Company®. WindoWatch's target audience is technically adept, but this series was designed to appeal to anyone interested in learning a new language. The writing style is instructional and humourous.
After reading the first two articles of the initial three-part series, based on version 7, The Learning Company was so pleased with these articles that they sent Margaret complimentary copies of their version 8 software with a request that she publish a review of that version. |

| Sucked into the Sim Vortex is a review of the interactive simulation game The Sims® along with its first two expansion packs and the web resources devoted to it. It was written to appeal to anyone considering purchasing the game, from hard-core gamers to parents wondering about their child's latest passion. In keeping with the subject matter, the writing style is very playful. |
